Applicability of the POST-IC diary; a digital means of communication about admission to intensive care
Project summary
Admission to an intensive care (IC) unit during the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has a major emotional impact on patients and their loved ones. Keeping a journal can help cope with this stressful time.
An innovative digital version of the existing paper diary can also be used if more distance is needed, such as during the COVID-19 crisis. In addition, relatives can invite other family members and nurses to write something in the diary or add photos.
With this research we gain insight into the following questions:
1. What is the experience of family members with the different elements of the POST-IC diary (such as chat function and use of photos)?
2. What do loved ones find important in the use of the POST-IC diary?
3. What is the applicability (more specifically the usability, completeness, familiarity, efficiency) of the POST-IC diary for ICU nurses?
